Description:
Takeo is the cream of Cambodia’s legendary southern cannabis-growing terroirs, historically regarded as one of the finest landrace cultivation regions in the country. Known locally as Orange Passion, this landrace has long been sought after for its unique combination of psychoactive intensity and bright, citrus-forward terpene profiles.
Plants exhibit classic Southeast Asian NLD morphology—tall, vigorous structures with long internodal spacing, well-adapted to the humid, floodplain environment of the Bassac River region. The flowers are airy yet resinous, exuding a sharp citrus aroma with tropical fruit and herbal undertones. The effects are potent, energizing, and long-lasting, delivering an electric cerebral high characteristic of old-school Cambodian ganja.

Context:
Takeo Province was once a cannabis cultivation stronghold, with vast floodplain fields stretching as far as the eye could see. Historically, these fields provided a major source of high-quality Cambodian ganja for both domestic use and international smuggling networks, supplying demand across Asia, Europe, and North America.
However, the eradication campaigns of 1996 and subsequent government crackdowns have decimated Cambodia’s landrace cannabis populations, reducing them to scattered, hidden patches cultivated in secrecy by older generations. In the increasingly urbanized landscape of modern Takeo, only small, isolated hamlets maintain this once-dominant landrace.
The loss of traditional cultivation has also accelerated genetic drift, threatening the long-term survival of Cambodia’s original landrace ganja populations. Without conservation efforts, these heirloom genetics may disappear within a generation, replaced by modern hybrids or lost entirely due to prohibition pressures.

Current Status:
Takeo’s landrace cannabis populations have been reduced to a relic of their former glory, with only a fraction of what once existed remaining. The influx of foreign genetics, hybridization, and continuous law enforcement pressure pose a serious threat to the future of this historic ganja-producing region.
Extremely limited seed stock from the 2021, 2022 & 2023 accessions is available.
