About 45 minutes walking below the village, near the river there is a nice opening of the valley which allows for some terraces.

Upper Field #2 is situated about 50m up the hill on the northern facing slope cresting the ridge up towards Chanderkhani.

Trekking a couple of hours from the village of Rumsu along the path to Chanderkhani brought me to two (of many) off the so called "upper fields" .

After arriving late at night in Manali - I slept at a random hotel in the 'New' town before taking a local bus the next morning heading to Naggar, a small village on the east bank of the Beas river in Kullu Valley. It is the gateway to Chanderkhani valley and the location of the trailhead which goes up the valley towards the high altitude pass via the village of Rumsu, where I will be staying a few days. Here's a few pictures I took on the way up.

Just a quick overnight stop in Chandigarh before continuing on tomorrow to Kullu-Manali.
